The RCP last night joined over 100 national landmarks in celebrating the NHS's 70th anniversary by lighting its iconic headquarters blue as part of the nationwide #LightUpBlue event.

The show of support was the culmination of a week of events reflecting on the vital role of the NHS, past and present.
Commenting on the 70th anniversary, RCP president Professor Dame Jane Dacre said:
From the beginning the RCP recognised how the NHS would revolutionise patient care and has not stopped doing so ever since. It is one of our greatest achievements as a society – a service with equality at the heart, built on a foundation of care for all, regardless of age or means.
We wish the NHS a thriving future and will continue to care and campaign for good health for all.
