When does my membership renew?
The date on which your membership to the RCP is renewed for another year and how much you pay to renew it depends on the membership category you fall under. Fellowship renewals occur on 1 January, associate renewals on 1 August, collegiate renewals on 1 October and qualified physician associate renewals on 1 November. Fellowship renewals
Fellowship renewals occur on the 1 January each year and cover members for the entirety of the 12 months following.
Are there any concessions available for members?
Members on maternity, paternity or adoption leave can claim a 50% reduction in their fees. Please contact membershipqueries@rcp.ac.uk to notify us of your eligibility. If you are a UK taxpayer, you can save 20–40% of the cost of your membership. Are there any concessions available for fellows?
Concessions are available for UK fellows working less than eight programmed activities (PAs) per week and SAS doctor fellows. Those in low-middle income countries as defined by the World Bank pay a discounted rate. Those suffering from general financial difficulties may be eligible for further concessions. How do I pay for my membership?
You can pay for your membership by any of the following ways:
- Renew online – visit My RCP. Don’t forget to update your contact details so you don’t miss out on future benefits.
- Pay by Direct Debit – if you wish to set up a Direct Debit or amend an existing one, please fill in one of our Direct Debit mandates and return it via email to membershipqueries@rcp.ac.uk. Please ensure all Direct Debit mandates are returned to us in sufficient time in the lead up to your renewal date.
How frequently can I pay?
Direct Debit payments towards your RCP membership subscription can be made in annual or quarterly instalments. Monthly Direct Debit instalments may only be used by foundation doctors and physician associate students.
Trainees
Upon enrolment with the Joint Royal Colleges Physicians Training Board (JRCPTB) trainees who are enrolled for internal medicine training or higher specialty training can opt to pay their remaining JRCPTB training fee(s) annually alongside an annual trainee membership subscription.
Internal medicine trainees who have not yet passed the MRCP(UK) exam are eligible to apply for associate membership. Any internal medicine trainee who has passed the MRCP(UK) exam are eligible to apply for collegiate membership.
Higher specialty trainees (ST3 upwards), irrespective of whether they have or have not passed the MRCP(UK) exam, are eligible to apply for collegiate membership.
Trainees can pay their combined annual trainee membership subscription and JRCPTB training fee in quarterly instalments if they select to sign up to Direct Debit.
