The teams from Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and the North West Paediatric Allergy Network are aiming to educate and empower patients, parents and primary care professions in the management of common food allergies following Future Hospital recommendations advocating self-management and shared decision making.
This work aims to improve primary healthcare knowledge and confidence through education and the implementation of pathways. The project hopes to reduce inappropriate allergy admissions and outpatients attendance to secondary and tertiary care.
