The FLS-DB is a continuous audit and was initiated to measure primarily against NICE technology assessments and guidance on osteoporosis, and the ROS clinical standards for FLSs. The FLS-DB patient audit is collecting information on fragility fracture diagnosed from 1 January 2016.
Taking part
To be eligible to participate in the patient audit component you need to have a fracture liaison service (FLS): a service that systematically identifies eligible patients aged over 50 years who have suffered a fragility fracture and treats or refers them to appropriate services with the aim of reducing their risk of subsequent fractures.
Data from the FLS-DB
FLS level data on care processes have been made available as part of a commitment to make clinical audit data available from the national audits within the National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes Programme (NCAPOP). The data documents FLS level compliance with defined clinical standards for secondary fracture prevention.
